Keeping FTTC but losing landline. How do I port my landline number without losing broadband

As per the subject. I have been offered FTTC from Plusnet but without my Plusnet landline. Happy to port my number to A&A but just wondered what the precise sequence is?

I have seen others on here moving to full fibre, but that is not currently an option for me.

Any advice grateffully received as I do not want to lose my Internet connection.

Thanks

@jonsinclair When, and only when, your SOGEA service is confirmed active. you can port your current number to A&A. You can set up the VOIP service with temporary number prior to the porting though.

@jonsinclair

As already stated, you do nothing until PN have confirmed you're on SOGEA (FTTC without a landline). You then have 30 days to port the number.

There will be a few days downtime with the phone.

You request the move to FTTC without landline ( its SoGEA but confusingly called Fibre! ).

This will cease your phone service, you then have up to 30 days to port the number to voip before its lost.

DO NOT start the port until the transfer to SoGEA is completed and your have confirmation of that.

edit: seems everyone else types faster than me.

Thank you all.

Silly question, but as it is only changing my broadband + landline package to just broadband, how can I tell when SoGEA  is initiated? Once I see that is has been done, I won't be too late to port my number I presume?

Fix

The switch to SOGEA is advised to you by PN when completed, and AFAIK, only takes 2-3 working days.
