@Junkman que? the Hub 2 event log should go back at least to when it was last rebooted (possibly even back to the last factory reset?) . It has nothing t do with when your laptop was rebooted.

@MisterW if I'm stuck without it and without the BQM I'll just keep an eye on sync speeds daily see if there's any meaningful adjustment. If not and Plusnet can't make any positive noises on Monday then I'll revert to my original setup 'cos I need to monitor what's happening on my [-Censored-] connection. If true to form I'm prob just gonna get a 'we can't see anything wrong with the line' from them anyway. I even reported a crackly phone fault a couple of weeks ago and they closed that ticket too said it was fine.

@Junkman IIRC the Helpdesk page on the HUb 2 shows the DSL status and (I think) DSL uptime ?

@MisterW good thought. Uptime 9hrs 15 mins which suggests a DLM reset around 2.30am today. To a sync speed 25.8Mbps which is pretty hopeless

What are the noise margins (SNR) showing as ?
I don't like your earlier post mentioning 'crackly line', that smacks of a line problem, and the DLM is probably trying to mitigate that.
Its just possible that you might also be affected by this https://community.plus.net/t5/Broadband/Remote-pinging-of-my-Static-IP-stopped-or-blocked-at-midnigh... which may explain the ping not working. Its a bit coincidental but you never know... Apparently its going to be rectified overnight so lets see what happens tomorrow

To me it looks like someone is port scanning, in the message there is a DPT=nnnn (Destination Port) message
Where nnnn is the destination port on your hub, if you look you'll see the number incrementing up by one
NSLOOKUP tells us it is
Name: 85.155.234.132.dyn.user.ono.com
Address: 85.155.234.132
Normally the Hub's firewall will trap them.

Agreed, I was more asking as to any clue why the event log doesnt appear to have any earlier data ?

Rather than guessing and to give us a full story can you export the Hub Two event log please and attach to a post.

The is a out of the box Hub Two, when it first booted it was running the latest firmware
00:00:14, 01 Oct. Booting firmware v0.10.00.04201-PN (Thu Apr 20 16:54:19 2023)
The first line sync message shows
12:13:32, 14 May. DSL Link Up: Down Rate=31038kbps, Up Rate=7441kbps; SNR Margin Down=6.3dB, Up=6.0dB
There was a number of DSL link down messages after the first boot, maybe the DSL cable was being removed or not securely plugged in or in poor condition, there are a number of GUI and Button reboots
Last entry is at the top
02:29:53, 15 May. DSL Link Up: Down Rate=25899kbps, Up Rate=8333kbps; SNR Margin Down=6.3dB, Up=6.0dB
02:29:51, 15 May. PPP: Sending PADI,,
02:29:46, 15 May. PPP: Starting PPP daemon,,
02:29:45, 15 May. WAN Auto-sensing detected port DSL WAN,,
02:29:18, 15 May. SIP WAN DOWN,,
02:29:17, 15 May. WAN Sensing Auto sensing Complete, interface selected,
02:29:17, 15 May. WAN Sensing Auto sensing Running,,
02:29:17, 15 May. WAN connection WAN2_INTERNET_PTM disconnected.[ERROR_NO_CARRIER],,
02:29:16, 15 May. PPP: Stopped PPP daemon(0,1,5)
02:29:16, 15 May. PPP LCP Send Termination Request (User request),,
02:29:16, 15 May. PPP: IPCP down,,
02:29:16, 15 May. PPP: LCP down,,
02:29:15, 15 May. DSL Link Down: duration was 18922 seconds
Prior to this resync the line sync was
21:14:01, 14 May. DSL Link Up: Down Rate=21080kbps, Up Rate=7273kbps; SNR Margin Down=6.2dB, Up=6.0dB
Looks like a DLM event to me
I will own up to the port scanning around 09:00, that was me seeing what ports are open on your connection as part of seeing why BQM is not working. The scan does prove they were directed to the 8800 router IP Address.
If possible can you just try to see if BQM will work with the Hub two only connected? Only need a 30 minute period.
I get Reply from 80.229.xxx.xx: Destination host unreachable for ping
