Re: Full Fibre

Hi Brian, Just done that -  for me, SKY lists part fibre. Dont know what speeds my neighbour a few houses down the road with SKY is getting ( the guy with the fibre line installed) as it asks me for details such as his landline number which I don't have.

Re: Full Fibre

@Alfaman

Time to go door knocking and ask the following. Confirm it's Full Fibre they're on. What speed and Who their ISP is.

Re: Full Fibre

And, if it is FTTP, who installed the CSP/ONT and associated cabling.

Re: Full Fibre

Okay Brian I went door knocking - two houses along my street have fibre cables from the OH poles to their propertys.

Neighbour 1 - Vodafone Full fibre - 500 Mbs download

Neighbour 2 - SKY Full fibre - don't know the download speed.

I'm on the same road as them - just 4 houses away.

But here's the thing when I go to both SKY and Vodafone individually both ISPs are only offering me the basic FTTC package of 18Mbs download (which is what I'm getting currently getting with Plusnet) .

So, none of it makes any sense whatsoever.

Re: Full Fibre

John -  For the Vodafone neighbour it was Openreach who installed the CSP/ ONT. This was done today. It isn't working yet but Vodafone say it will be activated tomorrow. SKY neighbour it was an Openreach subcontractor who did the installation.

I think I'll revert to the wireless 😁 for my entertainment .....

Re: Full Fibre

@Alfaman

Just to be clear - both neighbours use the same pole that is likely to serve your property. There's no other poles in play.

Re: Full Fibre

OK, @Alfaman . Something strange is going on here -  the BTw data is obviously wrong somehow. I think I'll leave it to the wizard ( @Gandalf ) to investigate.

Re: Full Fibre

There are a number of poles as you would expect.  Just outside my house is Pole 1  which receives a cable connection from the other estate. Cables from Pole 1 to Pole 2  which the Openreach guy said would be where the cable to my house would be fed from - it has that black plastic connector attached.  No houses yet connected to Pole 2 but they will be (including mine).  Cable from Pole 2 to Pole 3 - it is Pole 3 which is feeding the SKY and Vodafone houses.

Re: Full Fibre

Just checked, Sky and Vodafone can use the city fibre network.

Just have a look at their website and see what results you get.

Was a member for years, but moved from PN fttc to fttp from an AltNet. Getting 940Mb up and down. Happy to stay on here and try to help others. 

Re: Full Fibre

@Alfaman

Right - now we're getting some where. The CBT for your house (pole 2) is not live but Pole 3 appears to be. The fact that Pole 3 is live appears to suggest the "circuit" is live. The CBT that serves my house was the last of 5 or 6. I spoke to the guys running the test on it who confirmed that as it was fine the whole circuit has passed commissioning.

One final check you could do is to use the Address version of the Checker to see what it says for the houses connected to Pole 3 who have been connected.

Re: Full Fibre

Okay Brian just used the address checker for both houses which are connected by cables from Pole 3.   The address checker says  that FTTP is not available for either house  🤔

Re: Full Fibre

@Alfaman

This really isn't making sense. If the Checker says not available how have your neighbours been able to order Full Fibre.

This really is one for the wizard to solve.

Re: Full Fibre

Tbf I’d suggest asking Openreach by filling out this form:- https://www.openreach.com/forms/fibre-broadband-availability---customer-form

They can investigate this and correct any database errors.
