Re: Flashing orange router

Similar problem few years back .Sorry been out to funeral today so no reply.Yes the open reach engineer disconnected the hive hub completely from power and router confident it was this but this morning again flashing orange.Someone else (see above)had similar problems when switching to full fibre which we haven't got yet .So the hive hub isn't the culprit but I think the boiler is.The boiler is upstairs well away from the router and on separate ring main.Think the easiest thing to do is just switch off the internet at night .The boiler thermostat will still wirelessly connect and heat if necessary.

Re: Flashing orange router

As the fibre network is being installed down the road literally as we speak hopefully we can get fttp soon and maybe problems will disappear so maybe leave things alone until we get full fibre

@tearlec  What was in the image you just posted? It can take hours before images are cleared by admin. I think if you use the paperclip icon to attach it, rather than the "insert photos" icon, then it may be viewable straight away...I think.

Re: Flashing orange router

@tearlec  Totally different to your problem then. It refers to the connection between the boiler and room thermostat failing, nothing to do with the Broadband connection going down.

I have a Worcester Bosch boiler and never had any interference problems when I had an FTTC connection,  likewise now that I have a Full Fibre service.

For future reference, the paperclip icon is below the text box, just above the words "File attachment limits".

Re: Flashing orange router

Ok but boilers definitely do interfere with routers

Re: Flashing orange router

@tearlec

Can you describe the physical layout of the boiler. where it is in relation to the Hive Hub, how close are both to the Hub two?

Is the Hub two DSL cable on an extension or connected directly to the Master Socket with a Data socket or do you use an DSL In-line adapter?

Do you still still use a landline phone?

If the Hub is connected to the master socket, and you no longer use a landline phone, do you have any unused phone extensions connected to the master socket? extension cables can act as an radio antenna, picking up radio interference.

Modern equipment Power Adapter are switch mode power supply, these can introduce electrical noise to the phone line to the Hub.

Re: Flashing orange router

The hive hub is downstairs router downstairs boiler upstairs. No landline and hive hub which isn't the problem now disconnected was plugged in to master socket.Yes hoping with new fibre cables into house maybe a solution. As broadband now seems to work all day but not night we can live with this until fttp done

and hive hub which isn't the problem now disconnected was plugged in to master socket.

Que! The Hive hub has an ethernet connection (well all the ones ive seen have) and should be connected to a LAN port on the router !
