Hmmm...must be a coincidence as I've not touched your account.

Re: FTTC - the "missing" Mbps

Adam,
Before I get the wife to reboot, you should know that we're currently on a 'fast' session - that we managed to get at our last reconnect on Jan 24th. That session survived all the turmoil last week, and largely managed to keep going. It is still rare to get a fast session, and I'd expect a reboot would ordinarily drop us back to a slow session, so we should be OK to do that for you
However, the real thing I wanted to mention is related to the traffic management...
I just checked the current results on our Samknows box, to see what was happening... and it shows that ever since the "temporary" fix put in place on the TM system last week, our speeds have stayed at 37.5Mbps even during the evening 'managed' period. They'd normally slow down to 24Mbps between 1800 and 2300.
The speeds haven't been perfect at that level - the network definitely seems to be suffering a few more glitches at the moment - but the tests come back at full speed often enough.
Is there anything you want to check before we do the reboot?

Re: FTTC - the "missing" Mbps

A couple of quick points:
1. I didn't have to reboot after Adam did the first fix, it just happened.
2. I am still being throttled to 20Mb in the evening, unlike WWWombat.

@KevinG,
Cheers, so it would seem at least your issue was profile related.
Adam

So, is it just that setting the speed to 20Mb rather than 37Mb unleashes the full speed? If so, I presume this is a hangover from the setting for ADSL 2+ and that someone forgot to write the corresponding line of code to test for 37Mb!

Not specifically, rest assured thus far I do know its an issue relating to certain profiles but I'm still digging at the moment...

Re: FTTC - the "missing" Mbps

Well yes, I don't get 37.5 all the time, other factors come into play depending on the load, but I just got 36.5, which is pretty good for the time of day and better than almost anything I got before yesterday!

Re: FTTC - the "missing" Mbps

Wow, thanks alot Adam, worked a treat!!

Paul.

Edit*  The whole connection seems totally different now it a very positive way. For example when I started downloading a file before it would start at say 3.2 meg a second and creep up to 4. Now as soon as I start a download it is instantly at 4.4 meg a second.
Very happy.

Re: FTTC - the "missing" Mbps

Me too if you get the chance please - stuck on 35Mbps when I know I've been as high as 37.5Mbps in the past.
