I have a free account with Teranews but for the last few days cannot receive binary postings on my group:
alt.binaries.karaoke
I can see other people's posts but the ones I post do not get through.
Teranews say that my account is active.
I have Norton Personal Firewall to which no changes have been made.
I am at a loss to know what to do next.
Help please.

When you post a binary is it a program or a multimedia object of some kind?
Is Norton configured to allow Turnpike to send?
Are you using Turnpike as a mail client?
If so are you directing it's input through a spam filter program?
If you can't see anything obvious, try posting to the demon turnpike support group (demon.ip.support.turnpike should be available via google groups).

Are you able to post in other newsgroups at all? Maybe try a test one?

The files are small midi karaoke files. (.kar) I use Turnpike both as a mail and news client and have been doing so since 1995. Teranews is picking up one or two posts from other people but my posts are not showing.
Quote from: axisofevil I have used Turnpike; it's very dependable.

I do not use a spam filter programme. I do use Norton System Works 2003 and Norton Personal firewall but no changes have been made in those programmes that I can see to cause this.
I am receiving d.i.s.t. posts and non-binary posts in alt.music.lyrics.

I have just sent a test email to d.i.s.t.
It showed in my Turnpike log file as 1 article posted.
I am not a member of any other binary groups.

Could you possibly try subscribing to plusnet.test and see if you are able to post a test message in there?

Thank you James. I will do that. My post to d.i.s.t. showed this morning. I have posted a binary to alt.binaries.karaoke and will wait to see if that gets through also.

Hello James, I have tried subscribing to plusnet.test but the article will not leave my machine.
I have written to Teranews asking if they will carry that group.
I'll be back tomorrow.

I think you will find that all plusnet groups are "private" and only carried on the usenet.plus.net server. I think they may be text only as well...

Thank you. I will add that to Turnpike.

I see that my post to plusnet.test has now got through.
My other posts to d.i.s.t. and to alt.binaries.karaoke are not getting through.
This is obviously a Teranews problem but I cannot get them to reply. Sigh.
Thank you for the help everyone.
