Got mine flat - not sure which is the ideal way of mounting. Wireless seems good everywhere.
I would check out the http://forums.smallnetbuilder.com/forumdisplay.php?f=40 forums as it has the custom firmwares (merlin/tomato) which run better.

Flat here, but I'm sure it's happy whichever way you want it! Remember the two outer antennae are supposed to be angled at 45 degrees (outwards) and the middle one straight up. In theory it's supposed to give better wifi performance like that, although I haven't needed to test that theory.

Re: ASUS RT-N66U N900

Ok I'll try it flat, I know with the routers I got at mo they perform better upright.
I wish the 26th would hurry upppppppppp

Re: ASUS RT-N66U N900

Just out of interest do you have to use the bt modem with the asus or could you use the asus on its own. I'm guessing you have to use both

Both. No modem built into this particular Asus router.
