Quote Downstream noise margin of 15db is losing you a lot of speed and is indicative of either a lot of disconnects and/or a noisy line.
Even at 15db you would expect a better synch than that though. IIRC each 3db increase in target equates to about 700k loss in synch speed ( on ADSL1 anyway , not sure about ADSL2+ ). So all things being equal
, even at 15db target you should be at about 2-3Mbps below the kitz estimate of 22Mbps. The fact that you're only synching at 10Mbps does imply a noisy line, have you checked your internal wiring is not a problem by using the test socket.

Quote Arent I synching lower because my profile has been set to 9000?
No, you've got that the wrong way round , your synch speed sets the profile. The line will synch at the maximum speed it can whilst maintaining the target SNR. Normally the target SNR is set to 6db, if the line appears unstable ( or high error counts ) then the DLM will increase the target SNR ( in 3db steps ) to attempt to stabilise it. To maintain the increased target SNR the line will resynch at a lower speed. The DLM is pretty rapid at raising the target SNR but VERY tardy at reducing it when the line becomes stable ( after a fault correction say ). Your Profile follows any change in the synch speed, the BT one will reduce within minutes if the synch speed drops, but again can take days to rise if the synch speed increases. Your PlusNet
profile will track the BT one within 24hours ( usually! ).

Quote from: MisterW You might be better looking at Routerstats here http://www.vwlowen.co.uk/internet/files.htm
There's no might about it - for anyone with a Netgear router using RouterStats is a very smart move.

Does that make sense to anyone, lol. Cause I aint got a clue. I notice there are lots of errors on interleave which means I must have been changed because I was certainly on fastpath whne I join PN!!
