Reduced performance

I've been a customer for a couple of months, initially the line speed was very slow but after a week or so climbed to (barely) acceptable.



Over the last few weeks performance has degraded. I've gone from constantly getting > 1MB/s (8000kbits) (Roughly 1.5MB/s, usually) to now getting constantly less than 1MB/s and constant latency when browsing the internet. It's now difficult to play games if there is even a youtube video running.


It's ridiculous that I appear to be the last bloody house in this town without a fibre internet connection to start with (In the last 4 houses I've been in we've either had BT or Virgin fibre) but now the already awful ADSL performance is getting worse.

Testing your line isn't showing any obvious issues and it's not found any fault. Having said that, I would expect you to be connecting at a higher speed than you currently are based on the attenuation of the line.


Have you tested the phone line at all? Pick up the handset and dial 17070 running the quiet line test

Unfortunately I don't use the phone line and don't have a phone to test it with. Is there any alternative?

This has now reached a ridiculous new low, I'm barely getting 7mbps, struggling to watch videos let alone run any online games. This is awful service - the 12mbs advertised was incredibly low to start with but now the connection regularly becomes unusable. This can't be the fastest service possibly delivered to my home.
