PN Speedtester up the creek?

http://www.mybroadbandspeed.co.uk/
Couldn't get it to run, in the early hours or now. The page comes up but not a dicky bird when you press the button. Anyone else got a problem with it?

Re: PN Speedtester up the creek?

Ah, seems to be a machine specific issue, an update to a FF add-on seems to have upset IE. I'll have to get the liverpool screwdriver out!
Anyway nothing wrong with the speedtester (apart from the results, but thats another matter).

Re: PN Speedtester up the creek?

Hello Anotherone,
Plusnet tester seems ok today but was a bit iffy yesterday .Today however can not get the BT tester past the second stage of checking user ID - Keeps coming up with the message "unexpected error" etc
"if problem persists contact your isp ".
I wonder if this is connected with the dns problems currently refered to in the PN service status annoncement?
Is the BT tester working OK for others?
Edgeways.

Re: PN Speedtester up the creek?

Yes I ran the BT tester earlier, I recall having to try twice, that is such a common error unfortunately.

Re: PN Speedtester up the creek?

Hi folks,
I raised this as a problem some time ago. It seemed that when calling it up using the link at the bottom of the page, the web address provided left off the "Speedtest" bit off. I use Firefox 3 which may have something to do with that otherwise it may be the link.. I have got over the problem by Bookmarking the proper address and using that to get on and it has not yet failed to deliver.

Re: PN Speedtester up the creek?

Hi folks,
I have had time to look at my earlier post on this topic, (73377.0.html of 20/02/09). Here Kelly was going to look into matters...he must still be busy!! I did suggest that there was no rush for an answer. It still seems that the link incorrectly leaves out the end of the address. Pressing the Begin button merely removes it leaving the display of the site blank with no action (just checked again). My alternative access still works reliably.

Re: PN Speedtester up the creek?

I have it working fine now, as I said in reply #3, it turned out to be machine specific. Went I got round to looking at it, registry entries for Flash had been messed up. A re-install sorted it.
However, this did cause me to observe that here is no mention on the main screen that Flash is required for it to 'run'. Perhaps if Kelly sees this, the info about Flash on the Graphs page could be reproduced on the main page.
