Is this odd ?

I have been looking at my connection and have noticed the following as stated below
Router Sync 3776
BT IP Profile 3000
Plus net info
Estimate line speed 0.5mb
Current Line Speed 4.5mb
Which is correct ?

Re: Is this odd ?

Looks to me like the Router Sync / BT Profile may be the correct ones.
Presumably you actually did a BT Speed Test to obtain the profile info. What was the download speed during the test? Something around 2800 would be ok for that profile.

Re: Is this odd ?

Hi Flip,
It may be that the profile was lowered and our system hasn't had the report yet. Can you run a BT speed test and post the results here. It'll give us a better idea of what's going on.

Re: Is this odd ?

Hi jo
I will do that tonight when i home,  i know the BT Profile has always been 3000 its never been higher,  but the plusnet one did go up a few weeks ago after i had the SNR reset back to 6, i then sync at about 5280, then the snr went up again to13.  I can only presume something happened around then

Re: Is this odd ?

HI Flip,
I've just ran a line check this morning and the profile has slipped down to 2500. I'm not sure what has caused this, but the SNR is 13dB. How is your kit set up?

Re: Is this odd ?

Hi jo
Set up the same, direct into the master socket, which has no extensions,  there was a problem with my phone line last night, it just cut off and then went dead and remained like that for about 15 mins, then it started working again, i did report that to BT, who are investigating
The SNR has been at 12-13 for a while now.  You did a SNR reset a few weeks ago and i got a really good sync but after about 3 days the SNR went back up.

Re: Is this odd ?

HI Flip,
I wouldn't mind doing that again, if there was a confirmed phone fault that had been fixed. Let me know the result of the fault you've raised with BT and we'll take it from there.

Re: Is this odd ?

I've just submitted the SNR reset for you.  This will change the target SNR to 6dB and restart the 10 day training period.  Due to this you should expect your speed to fluctuate and your connection to occassionally drop out.
