Re: IP profile

Can this be improved?
That would depend on other router metrics which you have not disclosed.  Knowledge of the US and DS attenuation and SNRM will allow an assessment of the viability of squeezing more synch speed out of the line.
Your data transfer rate looks good for the synch speed.

Re: IP profile

Ah, now there was me thinking you had a tg582n, that explains it, sorry you won't get that lot. What you've posted will have to do, it would have been nice to see some error figures, I'm not sure where they are on that one, if they are shown, if you know post them.

Re: IP profile

Just had a quick look at the manual, if you are running standard firmware, it doesn't give them. So ..
As far as the stats above go your line is doing a touch better than some would. But tell use a bit about you installation and we'll see if there's anything that might improve it.
Do you have a Master Socket like the one on the left?
It has the join across it half way down.
Do you have any extension phone sockets, and where are you currently plugged in? Are you using any plug-in phone/router extension leads?
I presume you can't hear/have heard any crackling or other noises on the line when using the phone nor have you had any problems with incoming or outgoing calls?

Re: IP profile

Open reach fitted a new style fibre socket when they found the issue with the line which was external to the house (noise on the line) they have now wired so no external filters are needed at any ext point.
No noise on line

Re: IP profile

Ah ok that's good, so you are plugged into the top socket on that then? And do you have any fixed extensions at all?

Re: IP profile

Ok then I don't think there's an awful lot more to suggest.  I would have suggested looking at bell wires, but if you have an alarm system, I'm reluctant to suggest you tamper. See how it goes, with your external problem sorted let's hope your connection is stable.

Re: IP profile

I believe the vdsl2 interstertial plate filters the bell wire so that it doesn't back feed onto the unfiltered data socket.

Re: IP profile

I have already removed pin 3 (bell wire) from all the sockets

Re: IP profile

Ah, good. OK Smiley Did you remove it at the master? Which you can do at some convenient point if you didn't.
@njay
That is actually irrelevant, the filtering isn't always 100% effective. It's a similar situation with the older BT SSFP and some other Filtered Front plates and often removal of the bell wire will give further improvement.
