Re: Glacially slow speeds

I've noticed that you're exchange is currently set to amber, which means a potential capacity issue. This should be rectified within the next 3 days, i.e adding more capacity. So hopefully we'll see a improvement.

Re: Glacially slow speeds

Hideously slow speeds.
Speed test is giving me a ping of 995ms and a download speed of 0.23 but Pinging BBC through CMD gives an average trip as 18ms?

We're waiting for the status of your exchange which will hopefully change to green(no capacity issue) to come through, this won't be until Tuesday though.

Re: Glacially slow speeds

Seems pretty strange that poor speeds are constantly around the 0.24Mbps mark:
21:44
Ping: 20ms
Download: 0.24 Mbps
Upload: 0.06 Mbps

Re: Glacially slow speeds

And at 07:11am now back to decent speeds:
Ping: 20ms
Download: 6.12 Mbps
Upload: 0.74 Mbps
http://www.speedtest.net/result/2619066764.png
It's as if someone flicks a switch.

I used http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/ to look up the status of my exchange (Arthington):
"20CN VP capacity at this exchange is currently showing as Green."
20CN virtual paths: Green
There are currently no known capacity problems on your exchange. There may still be an exchange problem, however BT are not currently reporting that they are aware of it. Please contact Support if you are having speed problems, who can advise further.
Record last updated: 15 Mar 13
Historical information for this exchange:
Status Date
Green 08 Mar 13
Green 01 Mar 13
Green 12 Feb 13
Green 08 Feb 13
Green 25 Jan 13"
Would it be possible for someone to get back to me on whether it is a capacity issue or not please? Thanks.

Re: Glacially slow speeds

Hi,
The checker you're checking is for 20CN, whereas you're connected to 21CN. I'm checking on the latest status of your exchange, in the meantime would it be possible for you to run through our faults checker at http://faults.plus.net
