123 Call charge on bill

I can see this seems to be a recurring issue but I have been billed for a call I did not make. I do not use the landline.

It was on 01/09/23 at 08:22 to 123 with call length 0:00:01. Cost £0.50

Can I be reimbursed as I didn't make this call. In the future will disconnecting my landline phone help or can this just happen randomly?

Thanks for any help.

No it won't I'm afraid. Its caused by Openreach engineers ( usually contractors ) working at the cabinet and dialling 123 to test lines. They should NOT be using 123, they have a specific engineering number they should be using , but 123 is easier!!!

Re: 123 Call charge on bill

Hi @drewbaxter123  is this exactly what @MisterW  has said. This is the number the engineers use to test the line. Sometimes this happens if there is a cross line issue as well, however I've run the test and not ringing a fault.

I've popped a ticket on to your account about your bills. You can view this here https://www.plus.net/wizard/?p=view_question&id=236644837

@ClaudiaG23 It may be the number some of them use - but it is not the correct one.
