Re: line fault

Hi Jojo,
The new router arrived today - I have plugged it into the test socket, and used all the filters and cables in the new box (even though mine were all new last week).
Here are the stats:
Maximum Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 308 / 2,912
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 320 / 2,784
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 23.0 / 39.5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 6.0 / 15.5

I'm still not having any disconnects that I can notice, its just the sync speed is way low, could you run the line test again please? also, if no fault could you reset the SNR, I feel the 15.5 is stopping it syncing higher?
All we have ruled out, is that the router isn't the problem - I was so hoping the new one would just back on and sync properly! Sad

Re: line fault

Whatever the problem was has caused the DLM to set the target noise margin to 15 - that is stopping it syncing higher. Leave the new router connected 24x7 and don't do any reconnects/reboots. JoJo can then repeat the tests and will be looking for a good period of stability. If all is well the SNM can then be reset.

Thanks for highlighting that Jaggies  Undecided
@Knotty,
I've reset the SNR now as the line seems to be holding up well. If the SNR stays low it'll be a good indication that the new router has helped. If not, we'll have to see where to go to from there. I'll check back on it in a bit and see how it's going.
