I have a Thompson TG585 v8 Router. Does anyone know what the local/remote means when it reports 'Loss of Signal (Local/Remote)' ?

It means you lost sync, your connection dropped.
Edit: Forgot to say in the context of the modem/router, local is upstream to the exchange, remote is downstream from the exchange..
