After several months on end of perfect sync apart from those famous power cuts in Droitwich, my gilfriend and me have been sufferring random drop outs from the ISP connection but with consistent DSL sync. This all started Tuesday night from about 5:40pm. Her connection stabilised after a few hours, but mine (off the same exchange) has been on and off all day Wed and Thu. Friday seemed to be Ok but Sat /Sun dreadful. Today (Mon) has been it;s usual solid as a rock connection.
I put it down to all the network re-grooming that has been going on with the segment drop outs. Even changed to backup router but still same issues. Will be monitoring...
Cheers,
Pete

i thought i'd try a reboot of the router again today. since i rebooted at about 12.15, the half-hourly disconnections have started again. ive also noticed my noise margin has gone up to 12db. do BT see these disconnections as a fault?

We're collecting examples for investigation currently. I'm just about to add you to the list.

Very frustrating and there have been no changes to my setup. It's driving her indoors mad as she attempts to run her farm in Farmville on Facebook
All started around Friday last week I reckon but may have been longer as I'd been having the 'browsing through treacle' issues which may have masked it.
Anyway just my tuppence worth.

The last two disconnections were at 12 mins and 42 minutes past the hour.
I'm using a Speedtouch 330 USB.

Started on the 22nd IIRC, PPP was disconnecting about hourly, DSL appeared OK, but seeming more stable if I wasn't actively using it.
The most annoying thing, when the PPP connection went down, it would not reconnect automatically most of the time, it required a forced reconnect.. Although from the logs, I think that may be to do with the router itself.
The history information I have is (in case it's of any use):
23rd connection failed 16:41
connected at 16:44 failed at 18:11
connected at 18:13 failed at 21:43
connected at 21:45 failed at 22:12
connected at 22:12 failed at 23:43
24th connected at 11:09 failed at 06:13
25th connected at 10:29 failed at 06:14
26th reconnected automatically at 06:16 failed at 06:42
connected at 13:04 failed at 14:12
reconnected automatically at 14:12 rebooted at 22:25
connected at 22:26 failed at 08:11
27th connected at 08:14 failed at 08:43
connected at 18:07 failed at 19:12.
connected at 23:08 failed at 00:11.
28th connected at 23:13 rebooted at 19:11

No DSL disconnects though, just PPP drops...
