Re: FAO James et all

Thanks James, you've been great buddy.  Just like on all the other threads where you've intervened so many times before.  How many other ISP's can boast service like that I wonder?!

Re: FAO James et all

Cheesy
Almost 5 days now... Think it's cured.  James, can we get BT to lower SNR now?  Just lowering it to 9db would get me full sync...
Many thanks

Re: FAO James et all

Hi Matt,
BT have just reduced it to 12F for you (although it might take a couple of hours for it to go through.
They don't like doing it in big chunks, so they've reduced it by 3dB first for you to monitor for a couple of days.

Re: FAO James et all

Now my IP profile seems stuck at 5500.  Any particular reason?  Bloody BT.

Re: FAO James et all

You'll need to wait a bit longer I'm afraid.  Could take as much as 3-5 days.

Re: FAO James et all

I wonder what prompted BT to choose a line management protocol that's fraught with inherent problems. Other local loop providers seem to get by quite well without such "sophisticated" management; in fact my old Tiscali LLU was quite acceptable with an IP profile of 8 Mbps set by PN. Judging by all the adverse comments around the net about BT, especially 21CN, I think we'll see BT's share of the market drop significantly.

Re: FAO James et all

I take it all back, BT have deigned that I should have an IP profile of 7000 now.  Best ever rate.  Just have to wait until PN catches up now Tongue

Re: FAO James et all

Hi Matt,
I've updated your profile to match on our side, you may need to reboot to get it.
Cheers,

Re: FAO James et all

Thanks James
But
Please tell me you somehow caused my re-sync and it wasn't the fault back with a vengeance?!

Re: FAO James et all

...James?

...no, nothing I've done should have caused a resync I'm afraid.

But I'm still not James.
