Re: BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test FTTC

It can take up to 24 hours on FTTC for it to update. It will happen though, just takes it's time sometimes Smiley

Re: BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test FTTC

It shouldn't be long after that, assuming that the IP Profile updates out of core hours (9am-5:30pm). The Plusnet Profile shouldn't be far behind. If, for any reason it hasn't caught up, let us know and we'll nudge it for you.

@Chris
No, as I said I am not on FTTC yet I moved house and I won't be connected until Monday but then I will have to move again in a few weeks as the landlord told me today he is selling the place so It's going to be an expensive one @ £65 a pop!

Re: BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test FTTC

Yep, as I think the price will be about £8 more if Plusnet bring 120/30 next year. Can't wait. I know BT are trial it for a long time now.

Re: BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test FTTC

@ gf
With the amount of people close enough to get it. I doubt it would be even worth their while. And I agree. I made the mistake of bothering with a woman. Won't do that again and I am looking at a place today which is on the next NGA down to the one I am near now and it has the same estimates as here. It's about a mile away
@ Chris
No worries! I will probably not even get connected here depending on the contract I will let it get connected and then move it if it avoids the £209 fee to cancel the house move. I am just waiting for a ticket reply.

Re: BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test FTTC

@ pete, try find a good place with a very good landlord reviews and check BT Checker address with a post code and you will know if the cabinet to your new place will be 79.9/19.9. If I move again in future, I will always checking the new place, checking where the fibre cabinet is and also checking the landlord review etc.

Re: BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test FTTC

@GF
I already have. The new place gets exactly the same checker results as this place I am currently at does. The only difference is that it's on the next NGA down. The distance must be the same between both houses and their NGA's I know where the NGA's are and the one this house will be on is about 300M up the road from the one the new house will be on

Re: BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test FTTC

@ Chris. As for BT plan to bring in 120/30 next year (I think it something to do with new Champion League 2015/16 take over from Sky to BT platform along with new 120/30 FTTC) as I can see my line status as the Attainable rate of 100984K is probably no chance of getting 120Mbps but maybe around 90Mbps down with 25Mbps up. Do u think I am correct? As you can see my openreach modem line status below:
P.S. I thought BT say ages ago it will be 160/30 in future with Vectoring and G.Fast. But, look like BT going to add 120/30 instead just like before eg: 40/10, 80/20, 120/30, (160/40 in about five years time) as it seem BT never catch up with Virgin Media or other gigabit broadband providers yet as the UK's fastest broadband.

Re: BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test FTTC

I can't really answer of those questions as BT haven't advised us of any changes if there are going to be any.
With regards to the Attainable Rate, I'd think you're probably right in that's how it would work depending on the sync rate that the product allows you to sync 'Up to'.

Re: BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test FTTC

Just an update on this one - the TAP3 test still fails to work for me and my neighbour (BT Retail).
Same issue as the last 6 months, I am unable to resolve the http://test3.speedtest.btwholesale.com domain using the automatically assigned DNS servers from the test account to run the speed test (see the attached screenshots).

Jan  1 00:00:24 pppd[386]: primary   DNS address 194.72.9.34
Jan  1 00:00:24 pppd[386]: secondary DNS address 194.72.0.98

$ dig @194.72.0.98 test3.speedtest.btwholesale.com
; <<>> DiG 9.8.3-P1 <<>> @194.72.0.98 test3.speedtest.btwholesale.com
; (1 server found)
;; global options: +cmd
;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached

; (1 server found)

Manually putting in the IP address for the test3.speedtest.btwholesale.com domain also does not work - it just says 'Connecting...'
