End of Day: 4th August
It's exciting times for us at PlusNet just now, we've had a "Bake Off" today to help in the fund raising efforts for St Lukes hospital (and very nice they were too... even if Pete's cakes were a bit oddly coloured), we've had a new sign errected inside and we've got some exciting changes coming tomorrow. Unfortunately, though, you'll need to wait to find out! Quick off the mark was James from Comms - but then that's not surprising:
It's just been me and Chris in today so it's been pretty hectic stuff! I've been writing a bunch of Planned Maintenace posts as well as handling forums, Dev CCs, Problems, writing this EoD, attending meetings and doing some training. Chris has been working in the forums too, dealing with Networks CCs, attending meetings, dealing with some personal tickets and queries and making a start on his monthly Customer Satisfaction survey. See you tomorrow! James
Must be easy to write an End of Day when there's only two people to write about... Next up, we have Matt from Development:
HI All, Matt from Java team today, A busy week ahead of us in the Java team this week and we're still a man down, as one of us is still off sunbathing somewhere! Ali continues his preparation and testing of the platform upgrade work we are planning to rollout by the end of this week. There will be no visible changes to users, but should make our life in development much easier. I have been working on some tweaks to our traffic management system and some other general house keeping. Thats it from Java, heres to the upgrade!
Hmm, just what is it with only having two people on all the teams today? Marketing have had more than 2 people - honestly, I've seen them... although a quick look at the desk shows only two just now. So just what have they been up to? Martyn lets us know:
Chris usually writes the marketing end of day on Monday, but he's down in London on a press briefing mission. So you're stuck with me. What have we been up to? Well, we've been putting the finishing touches to web pages and emails in preparation for some big changes to the site tomorrow. Keep your eyes peeled in the morning to find out what I'm talking about. Everyone in the team has been working on the project today, so that's pretty much it from us. We'll be here bright and early tomorrow, so I'm heading home to set my alarm clock for 5am. I didn't even realise there was a 5 o'clock in the morning
I suppose I'm luckier than Martyn, I only have to get up at 5.45 so I can log in remotely
Edit: Just noticed an entry from the CSC which I missed - sorry guys! CSC Top 5:
Today we have been quite busy and here are the top 5... 1. Faults updates. We have had lots of calls from customers chasing an update on their faults after the weekend. 2. Auth Faults. We have had some new authentication faults raised today where the customers have not been able to connect using their usual login details. 3. Email setup. Lots of customers today have been calling in for help with email setup. 4. Hardware setup. We always see a lot of new users and hardware setup issues and today was no different. 5. Billing. We have has some calls to query account billing.
Well, that's it for today, we'll see you all tomorrow. Colin
