The first can't be done, the second you need to delete the existing mailboxs and then create the redirects (NB if the mailbox had aliases you will need to create a redirect for each alias).

Plusnet's email system either receives mail in to a mailbox or forwards it - you can't do both. Your best bet would be to use Google as the primary email address and forward the email to your phone as their system allows you to set up rules. You even be able to set up rules so that not all emails went to the phone if that was what you needed.

Haven't looked at the settings for an age, but pretty certain you used to be able to collect mail from multiple sources into your Gmail box.

In Google Mail in settings, Accounts and Import configure your PN mailbox in the Check mail using POP3: section.
Then create a filter where the To is your PN email address and the action is to forward it.

The OP says in his second post that he wants to /forward/ to a Gmail address.
I simply flipped the concept over and suggested using *that* Gmail address to collect the mail from his PN mailbox.
No /forwarding/ takes place in my scenario - just collection via POP3 (select to leave copy on PN server to allow it to be also collected by PC/mail client at home)
No need for any rules or filters.
Or did I miss something needing this to be overcomplicated?

If he wants absolutely everything from the PN account to be delivered to the phone, you are right, he just needs to add POP3 collection to the phone gmail account.
