he forgot to mention that most standard wifi routers (transceivers)  actually emit less than the average mobile phone  or  3g dongle or microwave oven, or even a crt screen ....

I don't think he forgot - virtually everyone knows wifi is a very low range tech - suitable to covering the home only - unlike mobiles which transmit a longer distance.

Well, the whole idea behind WiFi is that each device is able to broadcast radio waves (or Wireless, as we used to call the Radio). Cheesy
I'd advise you to stay indoors during the daytime.
The sun emits absolutely massive amounts of "EM waves"
and even at night there is a huge amount of neutrinos passing through your body.
So you can't win can you? Grin Grin Grin

Based on that advice we might as well all go and stand in front of  radar dish and not worry about it.
Your advice is daft. Yes we're surrounded by EM but that doesn't mean that cutting down on it should be laughed at or discouraged.

Simply buy some lead sheet

You can still get that in this country? - I thought our metalworks industry had just expired!

Re: how to switch wifi off/on online at night

I wonder if that lifi idea will work in practical applications, I mean how will the poky little router manage to cover the entire house with a light beam from the cupboard under the stairs or is this another advancement that is destined for exclusive use in specialist high priced applications only, I can see it being highly useful for traversing the bio containment glass partitions in secure labs I could see it being useful on a space ship to send data on a short trip across space from one giant fin to another or in some other space short distance where a wire would be impractical or problematic but since any physical object would block the signal I don't see it having many day to day general use applications /
still its good to know that they have figured out a way of dispensing with the fibre optic cable and its a major upgrade from wifi speeds
just because your paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you

Yep, but it's perfectly okay as it doesn't come from a wifi router... Grin

And as long as it doesn't contain any UV-A and UV-B as well, but then you may want to boost your Vitamin D levels Tongue

Yet an LED lightbulb will have a far less power output than a normal lightbulb... so that just proves that it doesn't mean there is any powerful EM coming from light.

Surely even LED lights are EM emitters - and I thought there were fears of even low energy sources (such as WiFi). Cheesy
