Testing SOGEA connections.

A couple of questions that are bugging me relating to those on SOGEA connections:

1. I am guessing that the 17070 Option 2 QLT no longer works, but does the calling number identification or other options work? If not, is there an alternative to these useful features?

2. The QLT test can be useful in identifying audible frequency noise that can extend into the broadband range. Whilst this is best conducted using 17070 Option 2, does this terminate the line or is it just left open circuit without the dial tone? Either way, noise can also be picked up on a SOGEA line. I can therefore see the case for keeping a landline analogue phone for broadband diagnostic purposes, be it not usable for phone calls. Any views/comments?

Re: Testing SOGEA connections.

I could be wrong but I didn't think 17070 worked at all on SOGEA connections ?

Re: Testing SOGEA connections.

I would think that Plusnet's  troubleshoot by text  automated line test would diagnose many more parameters as the cause of potential line problems on SoGEA,  than might have previously been possible with the subjective QLT.

The other thing that comes to mind related to testing Plusnet SoGEA, is that as far as I know Plusnet still haven't made customer's line "BBEU" visible anywhere in the "Member Centre".  The "BBEU" is needed (in the absence of a landline telephone number) to be able to run the "Additional Diagnostic" on the "BTW Broadband Performance Test", in order to discover the VDSL "IP Profile"
