Don't know which version of ccleaner you've got but just had an update from them telling me there is a new version 2.30.1130

CCleaner gives notifications of updates almost every time I use it! I wouldn't worry too much about using one that is a version or two out of date.

Boot time is measured in minutes for my 3 year old Windows XP laptop - it used to be measured in seconds.
How can I speed up the boot time + the logon time?
I'm not allowed to put Linux on it.

A Fox is Evil.....I guess it's to do with the number of programs that are loaded into memory during start-up.
In the past I have eliminated those that I don't want cluttering memory all the time, although I notice they've all appeared again.
I would like an easy way of ensuring only the essential programs load automatically, eg security protection programs.
