Kindle Battery

As my Kindle has been used a lot the length of time the battery stays charged has decreased by a considerable amount. (as expected)
There are numerous you tube videos showing how to change the battery but the question is this, will any books currently on my Kindle be lost as soon as I disconnect the old battery ? Could I just drag the document folder on the Kindle to a computer and just drag it back again once a new battery was installed ?
Anyone else changed a Kindle battery or know of any links that specifically relate to my query regarding loss of data when changing the battery ?

seem to contradict each other  ( not deliberately !)... one says you WILL lose your books..... the other said their books were still available after battery change..

Many thanks for the links, some interesting information there.
As you say some people indicate the books will be lost whilst others do not. It has been suggested that books lost could be downloaded from Amazon and that's true in cases where you have purchased them from Amazon in the first place,I also understand it's also possible to upload some books to your amazon account which have not been purchased from Amazon and then download them to your kindle but that's getting a bit complex for me.
I Haven't noticed any comments in these articles about copying your amazon folder containing your books to a computer and then moving it back to your Kindle should books be lost following a battery change. In theory it should work as it's just moving/copying data from one device to another and then back again.

I am about to buy a tablet probaly a Tesco Hudl from what you said I just wondered on normal use how long is the battery life I suppose if one is watching films and playing games life is going to be short I might have second thoughts from what you said,it would be nice just to click open and replace the battery.Is it easy to replace a new battery I have seen it on you tube and it seems a bit tricky.
