Update as of 1st August 2025, the v8.20 firmware is still specific to the Fritz!Box 7590

however over the last few days, Fritz! has made public a 'beta' release of firmware v8.10 for a variety of their routers.

Although the above headlines are for Fritz!OS 8.50, mainly for the Fritz!Box 7690,

many forum members here use Fritz!Box 7530 routers, so this might be a good opportunity to check whether your device has the latest firmware installed, as there was an update to v8.25  just a few months ago that you might have missed -

I will no doubt get the 8.50 release when Zen let it through, not that I'm that bothered - 8.25 works.

It would be interesting to know whether Plusnet customers using second-hand ex-Zen Fritz!Box routers, still get firmware updates pushed from the Zen servers, or whether users need to manually get updates from the official Fritz! website.

I would imagine that if they have been factory reset, as required to use them on non-Zen connections, then they will need to go via Fritz!.
