'Connected no internet' android smartphone

Hello,

I am a new Plusnet customer. Everything is great with my service, except on my Google Pixel 3 smartphone.

Everytime I turn on the phone, it connects to the network but displays 'connected no internet'. I have to manually switch the phone's WiFi off and on, after which the phone connects successfully. Then, throughout the day, the connection fails (despite remaining connected to the network) and web pages won't load etc. I have to manually cycle the phone's WiFi off and on again, after which it will work again.

I seem to be having a similar problem as described in this thread: https://community.plus.net/t5/Fibre-Broadband/quot-Connected-no-internet-quot-wi-fi-error-across-2-m...

All of my other devices work fine and I have not experienced any connection issues.

I have tried rebooting the router, separated the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. I live in a small apartment, device is never more than ~5m from the Hub One router. Android phone is fully up to date with latest Android 10 software.

My networked devices (all connected via WiFi):
Google Pixel 3 smartphone (affected device)
Google Pixelbook Chromebook
Linux desktop PC
Google home mini
Google Nest mini
Google Chromecast
LG WebOS smart TV

Sorry for long post, appreciate any help!
Mike

Re: 'Connected no internet' android smartphone

Welcome to the forums, @mikeblackett I'm no expert, so this is a suggestion only. The only thing I can't see you have done on the affected device is a 'soft reset'. No guarantees, because I don't have an Android phone, but I know it can work on Apple devices.

Hi jab1,

Thanks for the welcome!

That is a very good point, I haven't tried that.

I will reset the network settings now and see if it helps.

Thanks for your help!

No problem, let us know how it goes.My suggestion meant totally powering down the phone, wait a minute or so, then restart it, though.

Crikey, I think you nailed it. I reset the network settings, restarted and it connected with no problems.

Can't believe I didn't try that first... 🤦‍♂️

Thank you!!

Oh yes, I see what you mean. I had already tried restarting the phone a few times. Resetting the network settings seems to have fixed the problem, though.

Thanks for your help, John
