Re: Captive wifi

Just an absolute guess, but I wonder if the account name change (message number eight) has resulted in the credentials that are associated with the router not matching an active account.

It would be worth checking what the account name and password are (log in on Plusnet Member Centre to check).

If they changed then is the router getting those credentials (there is a process "TR-069" which lets a Plusnet router get the correct account log in without you entering it).

A reset of the router MIGHT fix this if all is well on the Plusnet side.

I am the satisfied customer....

Re: Captive wifi

I checked, and the only info that changed when the person died was the direct debit details, everything else was already setup from the beginning in the other person's name.
I just turned the WiFi off on my phone, when I turned it back on I got the same page pop up. The only difference is that when I login to it, the information is remembered and the WiFi works.
If I press the reset on the router, will that be easy to reset up?

There is nothing for you to set up - it is all automatic.

I've tried that, router and iPad, and the same thing happens. I've also told the iPad to forgot the connection, and then I've reinstalled it, but the same thing happens.

What colour is the light on the front of the Hub 2 router? When properly working and logged in to PN with Internet access it should be a steady blue colour.

Re: Captive wifi

It's blue.
The in-law thinks that their iPad did an update recently, so perhaps it's something to do with that 🤷🏻‍♀️

Re: Captive wifi

It will be nothing to do with an iPad update.

Have you tried the router reset?

Re: Captive wifi

Resolved, but not from the reset.
It turns out that the direct debit that was set up, for some reason has been closed! This meant that there was 2 months outstanding and so some restrictions had been put on the account. Now the bill has been paid, the restrictions have been removed and everything is working.
Thank you all so much for your help. At least if you get asked about this kind of problem again, you will know the answer Smiley
