OK, so this pattern of events has continued to plague me mainly when attempting to reply to posts, but also sometimes just opening a topic to read it. The screen begins to load the reply page but then goes blank with the message "error code - out of memory". Sometimes (as it`s doing now) it doesn`t show this message and the page loads fine. But it`s becoming a nuisance due to the frequency of it. Especially when I`ve had some replies from members and can`t reply at that time due to theve events.
I did some more digging around this issue and some Microsoft community member posts and other sites are suggesting this was caused because of an EDGE browser fault during one of the updates. I checked the version I was using last night and it was version 129.0.2792.52 installed on September 2024.
The consensus is that this can be fixed by updating the EDGE browser to version 122.0.2365.66. So off I went to do just that and after my version loaded/updated, it shows as version 129.0.2792.65......so not quite the version shown above in bold. Maybe I need to wait until the 66 version comes my way?
I don`t normally update the browser manually as I have automatic updates set in the settings, so it`s not an area I normally pay much attention to but when I do get these updated versions downloading, once I reboot the laptop, I`m met with the screen and message that my Windows browser has updated and to start using it? I always click on the X in the task bar and just revert to the version I`m using so perhaps that`s where I`m going wrong? Or Microsoft are using these error messages to push Windows users to use their newer versions of Edge?
Apologies for the long winded explanation but that`s what`s going on and would be interested to hear if anyone else is having this problem or can shed some much needed light on it for me? When I google search it, it seems there are many other Windows users having the same problems and never finding a fix apart from someone mentioning that 66 version being the `fix`. Which as yet, I don`t have.

You obviously like edge, but there are plenty of other browsers out there...

Just checked my Edge version and it was the 129.0.2792.52 version. It has updated to 129.0.2792.65. I did not have the issue you report with the earlier version an, obviously since I am replying here, I do not have it with the current version. I am afraid I cannot help solve your issue.
However, you mention version 122.0.2365.66. This must be an old version judging by the "122" starting digits. I suspect it was an old post in the MS community forums.

@jgb yes, I noticed that too. Really strange what`s going on. I`ve tried to reply to a few posts on here this morning and a moment ago to this one and was blanked out again. It`s very `hit and miss`. Given you had the version I was using ending with 52 and is now showing as 65 as of when I updated mine last night, this is still an ongoing `bug` I seem to be dealing with and hope it fixes itself because it`s doing my head in!
Where do I look to view all the versions my laptop has had please? Not that it will solve anything just curious.
@jab1 - Problem is, I prefer to stick to using the Microsoft browser as it`s what I`m used to. My laptop isn`t compatible with Windows 11 either (I`m using Windows 10 Home) 32 bit currently.

@plusmouse I can't really help with Windows these days - I've been a Linux user for too long - but I was merely suggesting that there are other options for browsers if your current one is causing issues.

I feel switching to another browser (although probably the best way to resolve this annoying quirk) isn`t solving the original issue and I know I`m not alone in asking this question because google searches have thrown up many other sites discussing `how to fix the Out of memory` problem in Edge and yet, anything people try from the various advice given never seems to work. Some people saying it was an Edge update that caused this issue (as I mentioned earlier), others saying look at X or Y" but I`ve yet to find one that tells you how to resolve it, apart from using another browser!
My gut feeling is that Microsoft threw a spanner in the works and left it without telling users how to reverse it. All well and good throwing out browser updates and then realizing something was very wrong once the horse has bolted. I`ll see how this plays out because as you can see, I`ve been able to reply again without the page starting to load and then going blank on me.

@plusmouse For Info I'm using :
Windows 10 Pro Version 22H2 Build 19045.4894
Edge version 129.0.2792.65 (Official build) (64-bit)
Without problems.
I see you're using Windows 10 Home 32 bit - presumably Edge 32 bit ?

@plusmouse Over the last couple of days I've had a good look at variuos articles and forums but found nothing specific. As an experienced guess I suspect the memory errors are genuine and being caused by the use of 32 bit programs. There is a memory usuage limitation 0f 4GB, any more is ignored. Microsoft products are well known to use all available memory. Looking at the task manager Edge seems to have a lot of programs/services running in the background even if the browser is not being used.. As suggested it might be worth using another browser. Iideally Edge should be removed but I seem to remember it's uninstallable....

@Champnet : Apologies for my lateness in replying to this. I just had a look at my Task manager and although I`m rather clueless at understanding what all the percentages mean, it`s fluctuating around at 63% and power usage is `very low`.
My Edge browser has also apparently updated to version 129.0.2792.79. Whether that will make any difference to the Out Of Memory error code I keep seeing on some webpages I don`t know. The 32 bit program thing you mentioned could though.
I`m also wondering if because this laptop is old and I may not have realized about the memory capacity, is there a way I can recover some of that `space` by clearing anything out? Or in other words, wiping anything that`s been saved and me being a noob when it comes to tech haven`t given it a second thought? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?
I continue to have periodic `blips` trying to reply to posts although as you can see, it`s intermittent as I`ve been able to reply here again. But sometimes I can post a reply, go to another post and hit `Reply` and that blank page turns up again....so I have to log out and come back to it. 🙄

I ran the Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool last night and no memory errors were detected by running it. Looks like my laptop is running well, updating well and apart from this one issue, it`s fine. Albeit that it runs the 32 bit Home edition so when I go looking for an upgraded, I`ll be sure to get one that`s 64 or higher. That date is already looming due to Microsoft stopping security updates for Windows 10 by this time next year.

@plusmouse Unless you buy a second-hand, old, machine, you will only find 64-bit machines.

I get page\\blank errors on Chrome using iPad every now and then when opening a link from a tab. I either stop and close Chrome or load the main page of the same site/forum and then I’m able to open the required page. Hitting refresh on a \\blank page NEVER works.

Sorry for the late reply I`ve been otherwise preoccupied with my FF install and I`ve attempted to post a reply and got the blank screen again with the same error. 🙄
Thankfully, it`s allowed me to reply!
@spile - When you say "You either stop and close Chrome or load the main of the same site/forum and then your able to open the required page"....what I`m experiencing in the main, is not so much a webpage/site not loading, but mostly when I go to reply to a post. The page changes to the reply box and then after about five seconds, disappears and I see the `out of memory` error message.
I agree that hitting the `Refresh` option doesn`t do anything.
My laptop is only 32 Bit bit and is right up to date with updates and security, but if this persists and no `fix` is on the horizon, I can see me having to upgrade my laptop to Windows 11 and hope this issue gets resolved, although I was hoping to delay a new laptop until into next year as Microsoft are ceasing security updates for Windows 10 on machines that are not compatible. 😔
Nice of Mr. Gates to help the worlds electronic landfill/eco problems by telling many millions of Windows users to go forth and spend more $/£`s on new PC`s when the one`s they are using should be adequate with some technical bods making that possible. Seems not.

OK....so I`m still encountering these page white-outs from time to time. I`ve no idea how to fix it, but I looked in Task Manager > Performance and the MEMORY part is showing 2.4/3.0GB (80%).
If anyone knows how to reduce this down without (as YouTube suggested) using a 3rd party `app`, rather than something Microsoft may already suggest, I`d love to know. What I`m asking is, if the Memory is congested, surely there is a way to reduce it (but not just clearing cache)? Something `In-House` already there?

I am not convinced that this is an EDGE browser issue. I have seen similar on my iPhone / iPad. It has been around for a long time...
The page to enter a post displays and "stabilises" then as soon as anything is typed the page refreshes. To me this looks like automation failure in the web page.
@plusmouse reports seeing the same characteristic on other forums ... one wonders if those services come out of the same coding garden shed as this one?
If I have time next I see it, I'll dig into the development console to see if there is an obvious call home for a page refresh.
