On the recommendation of @shutter and others, I have been experimenting with Linux on an old laptop and found it to be a good alternative to Windows. A most welcome discovery was the Brave web browser. Chromium based, it is designed to block ads and trackers by default and loads pages faster. Brave has a Windows version which I now use on a Windows 11 desktop alongside Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome.

Thought so - same as what I've been using for about 5 years - recommended to me by someone on our local forum.

I have an Ubuntu virtual machine in VMWare.
It is quite handy to be able to flick between Windows and Linux on the same screen.
