I am still having problems with Youtube vids "juddering" at the start, and occasionally during..... I have changed my Antivirus, and disabled "real time protection" but it still does it... so wondering if there is some sort of "activity meter"... either in the laptop system, or in Windows, or can be downloaded, to show when/if background progs are running, and causing this "interference".... it is very similar to the old 45`s and L.P`s that used to jump when the tracks had been scratched...
Running Windows Vista Home Premium..... Laptop is Dell Inspiron 1545..... Antivirus is Adaware Free.....
Just noticed that I have also got Windows Defender running..with Adaware Antivirus.... . Perhaps I am on "overkill".... and this may be causing the problem???

I certainly wouldn't have both running as that is almost certainly a recipe for problems
Why don't you install Networx then you can see if the download is doing what it should
Also open Resource Monitor from the Task Manager and that might show if something is hitting your CPU usagw

OK... Thanks Jim... will uninstall the new Adaware, and let Windows Defender do it`s stuff...
Also have a look at Resource Monitor, and see what it happening there...
Cheers

They can be a bit daunting for beginners but the Sysinternals suite of software will pretty much show you everything that is going on. Process Monitor, Process Explorer and TCPView would be good to start with. Though the resource monitor, as mentioned, is getting a lot better with each new release of Windows. The seem to be building in a lot of what Sysinternals does, just in a more user friendly way.

Well, Despite removing ADAWARE anti-virus, and letting Windows Defender do the job, and with no other usage of the internet... Old Jim has seen a video of my problem together with the graphs on Resource Monitor, he hasn`t any idea why I get this juddering on Youtube... Even spent a couple of hours installing the latest version of Adobe Flash Player, and I still have the problem......
