Re: Accessing Streetmap

It's well worth £35 per annum for the Ordnance Survey site:

A complex system that does not work is invariably found to have evolved from a simpler system that worked just fine

Someone who apparently had a problem in 2025...

Although I'd not experienced such (I don't use Bing. Or google. And I don;t have a "microsoft user account" registered on my end device.)

Re: Accessing Streetmap

Streetmap appears to be back up. It seems that recent high winds in Cornwall took out the power lines to their servers. It ha taken until now for service to be restored

See Streetmap.co.uk - a Technology crowdfunding project in Camborne by Penny Bamborough

A donation of somewhat less might help to keep this service running.

One full month with no power and / or internet sounds grim and challenges the wisdom of locating national services (such as this) in very remote rural locations.  £16kpa to run this service (using volunteer labour) seems high ... one wonders how much a platform provider such as Mythic Beasts would cost?
