Access Gigaset N300IP from external connection

Hi,

Has anyone any knowledge of how to access the admin panel from an external connection. Don't want to add the device to DMZ. Expect that some port forwarding may be involved
Was a member for years, but moved from PN fttc to fttp from an AltNet. Getting 940Mb up and down. Happy to stay on here and try to help others. 

@mystreet1 I'm not sure I'd recommend it!

It would be better, if possible, to host a VPN server on your network and access the N300 via that.

However, if you really want to do it, I would guess you need to forward port 80 to the N300 ( its http not https )

Then on the N300 , set the 'Allow access from other networks' in the Remote Management (under Network/IP Configuration)

Get a Raspberry Pi and install Wireguard on it. You’ll need DDNS too.

@mystreet1

I note AltNet on your signature, have you a CGNAT IP Address as this may make things less straightforward.

@Dan_the_Van

It is a friends business that has a fixed IP. Just helping them out to get VOIP. Currently they are porting a few numbers from BT. Would be a lot easier if I could remotely set up the N300.

Fix

@mystreet1

Would be a lot easier if I could remotely set up the N300.

What about temporary remote access to a PC on the network ? then use a browser from there to access the N300. That's how I setup a family members. In my case I already had VNC setup for remote support anyway, but there are plenty of other options

@MisterW

That was the solution I was going to suggest, but the nature of the task / remote access had not been described.  Unattended remote access is more of a challenge.

If the premises can be attended during remote access, site initiation of Quick Assist is by far the easiest of options.

I used TeamViewer to assist various friends, but they deemed I was using it commercially and licked me out, demanding £35pcm.  That toolset has the rather nice feature of allowing remote access without attendance.  I used TeamViewer configured in that manner to get into the home network exactly as you describe.

Re: Access Gigaset N300IP from external connection

Just to close this off. Did as suggested, got them to download teamviewer quick connect.
Connected and 5 minutes later 3 lines configured on the N300.

Saved a hours round trip.
