Thanks to the call centre, BT Openreach finally nailed the lousy phone line to a fault 40 metres from the box and used a spare good pair on the cable, I've now got a crackle free line and the Broadband is a good 28-30Mb, shame it took them three tries to find the fault but it was an underground fault not at the box or the pole.
I look forwards to the day they take the Fibre to the distribution pole we will then actually get super fast broadband that no ISP can provide until BT gets its antiquated structures ripped up and replaced.
