Re: safeguard

I have moved it to here as it is possible that you have spotted the first stage in Child Protection as practised by some other ISP's

Re: safeguard

i just had a look at this on PN site as i was intrigued its turned on Via the web page , basically you have to Opt in to be able to watch adult pages , surely it is personal view to be able to block this rater than have PN decide for you ?Huh
11. Are any categories blocked by default?
Yes, Plusnet SafeGuard blocks access to Pornography, Hate & Intolerance and Tasteless websites by default. However, you can change these at any time.

Re: safeguard

Safeguard is turned 'off' on your account, so you have to make the choice to turn it on and at that point you can choose which types of sites and content are blocked.

Re: safeguard

the ones which are blocked by default are listed under Block Categories but can be unblocked
This is a good one
Quote
Tasteless - Blocked
Websites that are offensive or tasteless (e.g. toilet humour), including gruesome or frightening content (e.g. blood or wounds, or cruel animal treatment).

If I should enable it this is one I would unblock

Re: safeguard

There should be NOTHING !! blocked by default .
it is up to each person to decide , NOT for PN to make choices for their customers

For goodness sake
The whole thing isn't active UNLESS the customer activates it and then they need to decide what the want blocking or unblocking

Re: safeguard

Exactly, 'Safeguard' is OFF by default, therefore (as you prefer) NOTHING is blocked by default.

Re: safeguard

Well at least it's opt-in rather than opt-out. That's all I can really say on it.

Re: safeguard

Its not a bad idea i just didnt expect to see a tab to block gaming, but i guess its maybe usefull for parents who are struggling to keep their kids off playing computer games when they should be focusing on exams n stuff.
