Upgrade Problems

Long time Plus Net ADSL customer and very happy so.....contract just expired and ring up to see about upgrading to fibre
Wait 20 minutes  Angry to speak with Mathew who tells me he can transfer me to another department (here we go  ::))
recorded music for another 10 mins and then line goes dead..... Lips_are_sealed
Have been reading horror stories about plusnet fibre on here and elsewhere but despite myself thought I would give it a go
cos I fancy a shiny new you view box after all it cant be THAT bad can it ?
Come on Plus Net to fall at the first fence    totally unacceptable.

Re: Upgrade Problems

Apologies this post hadn't been picked up yet.
Glad that someone in COT investigated, and thanks to Jim for providing the number.
Let us know how you get on with your fibre upgrade Smiley

Re: Upgrade Problems

If you haven't got wifi on router it suggests router is faulty.

Re: Upgrade Problems

Heres a funny thing  Grin new fibre "seems" much faster than before web pages & video loading almost instantly :D,But wi fi speed test 8-9 mbps which is more or less
What it was on adsl. However we have iptv via ethernet (hard wired) and when i speed test that it goes up to almost 60mbps  Cheesy am i doing summit wrong ? I know this fibre thingy
Takes a while to settle down....either way its all good, phoned plus net and was advised they needed 24 hours after install before i could order you view box.

Re: Upgrade Problems

You're doing nothing wrong. WiFi speeds are very subject to distances, thickness of walls etc and are not reliable.
You're getting the correct speed via a wired connection.

Re: Upgrade Problems

Early doors & i know im tempting fate but.....fibre up & running couple days now and speed testing at 31 to 36 Mbps after a slow start thats just about what i expected & heaps better than adsl.
Whole process was relatively fuss & painfree and managed to secure a great deal including you view box so far its all good  Grin Grin
Many thanks to everyone on here & at plus net hq for help, happy bunny.
