Unsatisfactory reponse to fault

We had a fault that resulted in loss of phone line and broadband for several hours. The question has been closed and no explanation of what caused the fault provided. Plusnet appears to be using an automatic "robot" system to  close the question and provide nothing in the way of customer service. It would be helpful to know in plain english  what the cause of the fault was and not use acronyms such as NSC and EIN. In a former life I used acronyms widely (as did my colleagues) but we would not expect that  the general public to be  knowledgeable about TSH LFT  for instance.

At least it is not FNF.

Fault not found.
Was a member for years, but moved from PN fttc to fttp from an AltNet. Getting 940Mb up and down. Happy to stay on here and try to help others. 

I suspect "NSC" means No Sync and "EIN" means Electrical Impulse Noise. As to what the cause is/was, that's another matter.

Fault not found.

Or worse NFF - No Fault Found - which unlike the above, does not acknowledge that there remains a fault to be found, but the cause remains undiagnosed!
