System Maintenance - 403 Forbidden

Whilst tonight's system maintenance is occurring, why am I getting a 403 error on http://www.plus.net/support/

You don't have permission to access /support/ on this server.

instead of the proper holding page as on http://www.plus.net/

Re: System Maintenance - 403 Forbidden

Interesting, I was advised that holding pages would be in place, however looking at some of the internal comms this states that these systems will be 'unavailable'. I'll ensure we clarify this on future posts.
Thanks for letting us know AO>

Re: System Maintenance - 403 Forbidden

Well despite this being mentioned over 3 weeks ago, I see all related things have been fixed - Not Roll_eyes
http://usertools.plus.net/status/archive/1434627522.htm although this Service Status Notice mentions "What does it affect? Access to our website and internal systems." where it says "Am I likely to notice the work?" it then says "You won't be able to access the member centre and holding pages will be in place for part of the maintenance window."
Now, people like me will realise what it actually means, but the average non-tech user will probably not, and what happened to a mention of access to Customer accounts?
Perhaps the notice should read should read something like

Am I likely to notice the work?
You won't be able to access any pages on our website including Help & Support and the Member Centre and support staff will be unable to access customer' accounts. Holding pages will be in place during the maintenance window.

When I first commented about the holding page, at least the SS notice posted by Chris Parr was somewhat better

Yes, our website will be unavailable during the maintenance window and support staff will be unable to access customer' accounts.

As no doubt a number of users will keep direct links to Help and Support, the Holding Page should appear there as well - it isn't - see attached screen shot (as previously)
I didn't actually visit http://www.plus.net/help/ but I guess it would suffer the same issue.
