Snail pace portal

Why is the user portal so damn slow to load and navigate. It must be one of the slowest sites I use. I know it's never been fast in the past but it's hardly a good example for new customers.

Re: Snail pace portal

My connection is usually fairly nifty but I totally agree with you about the portal - it's a nuisance having to wait for pages to load.

Re: Snail pace portal

i dont see it anotherone.
all pages why not signed in are taking 2 seconds and when signed in there taking 3-4 seconds max and that's even tickets which is normaly one of the pages that takes donkeys when things are not running right
any idea if it's a problem with just 1 gateway or somthing?

Re: Snail pace portal

Haven't queried whether it's gateway dependant, too many people over a broad spectrum of posts, many mentioning it in passing so to speak.

Re: Snail pace portal

I usually find that most pages within "my account" take a few seconds to load.

Re: Snail pace portal

The Portal has not been a good performer for a long time as many people report.  I've just got used to it being a bit sluggish compared with other comparable sites and generally don't notice it enough to get agitated about.  But I'd agree it could be improved.

Re: Snail pace portal

On an 8M sync line going to the portal took 8 seconds. It is dire. It's been dire for at least 5 years.

Was that to readable page or complete download?
My times were the same as pierre_pierre's.
