Re: Should I join Plusnet

If I'm right and FTTP is available then join PlusNet, join the FTTP trial and eliminate the phone line from your internet connection.

Added bonus is you can ditch your phone line entirely if not required and save a bit of money (though PlusNet have a £2.50 surcharge for internet only service!!!)

Edit : Can you post a screen image of the DSL results or let us know which Exchange / Cabinet you're on.

Re: Should I join Plusnet

Does WBC FTTP mean fibre optic straight to my house, sounds good but probably expensive?

Re: Should I join Plusnet

FTTP does mean fibre direct to your house - with no extra costs other than what you pay for FTTC (on PlusNet anyway and I think the same for BT - Infinity1 etc).

However "WBC FTTP" must show up in the left hand column of the DSL check results. It appears in the Headers but this means nothing.

Re: Should I join Plusnet

Sorry, I was confused by a previous post where you listed "WBC FTTP Date Available". FTTP is not available for your house (FTTP on Demand is a different very expensive product).

Re: Should I join Plusnet

Sorry for delay in any replies, have to look after my father sometimes, forgot one key bit of information, my upload speeds have never changed, always a constant 8 to 9Mbps.

And today my speeds are as advertised, in the 30 to 35 range, but I'm using my Android MINIX PC as I've returned borrowed windows PC.

@Ricky45 Your upload speeds will change if you go for PN unlimited fibre package , as that package offers a maximum upload of 2Mb , as PN do not sell the 40/10 package like other providers do

Re: Should I join Plusnet

I was going to go for the unlimited extra? £29.99 a month.

10 to 20Mbps upload

Re: Should I join Plusnet

That will be fine then as it is an 80/20 product , i assume you download estimated speed is above 40Mb? , the reason i ask, if not, PN will not sell you Unlimited Fibre Extra

Yes, they did confirm minimum speeds for that package.

Re: Should I join Plusnet

Plusnet's guaranteed minimum speed for 38 package 34

Vodafone's guaranteed minimum speed for 38 package 20

I think it says' a lot.

Plusnet gave me 49 for 76 extra.

Re: Should I join Plusnet

It does state fair usage applies? Does this mean speed caps with them or a priority thing? This will be my last question, promise.

Re: Should I join Plusnet
