so be proactive instead of whining on the forums that Plusnet aren't running to your beck and call.
B.
Oh dear, I am not happy with that comment, and from a moderator, I got told off the other day for the whining this victim done about not getting an apology when very clearly every victim did, So how are you allowed to make a statement like that and I'm not?

What number did you call?I have had no missed call and if you tried calling my landline number then the no answer you would have got is because I do not use a landline.

Your landline is listed as both daytime and evening preferred contact number. Might be worth changing this if you don't use it.
We will be following up with people we were unable to contact over the weekend in the next couple of days. However if you wish to take the Identity Protection service you can of course just update your ticket indicating this.

Show me where this is changeable in member centre....
I have both my landline and mobile listed, and nowhere does it let me change this and nowhere does it say which is the preferred contact detail. How am I supposed to remember after one year what is the preferred contact detail?  I have had plusnet contact me on my mobile before so I assumed this was the default. and if not then at least an email saying i had tried to be contacted.

It's always a good idea to have a basic phone in your landline; handy for broadband testing for a start and of course emergencies.
Used to be about £3 from Argos.
Indeed, except I get so many nuisance calls on my landline, and virtually none on my VoIP, so the landline stays unplugged, although I could plug the VoIP into it as it supports that... but nah, let the nuisance calls talk to themselves, last time I had it plugged in a I won a free Caribbean cruise holiday...

Do we know if any of *us* is going to be at the hearing?  On Slyck they are predicting a good turn out of press and saying members of the public need to be there early to make sure they are not refused entry on health and safety grounds.
Whatever CMW does today, I'd be amazed if he doesn't comment in some sarcastic fashion on how a week ago he was struggling to find a defendant who wanted to protest, and now he's having to bar the doors to keep them out!  Roll_eyes

No ISP will refuse to comply with a court order...

I think that's the thing that everyone is angry about. If only PN had said the same thing ...

Be aware folks, the concept of contesting a court order request is not the same as intending to no comply.
In its simplest form, a contestation could hypothetically be no more than asking CMW "We believe the information is not going to be used for its intent nor that it identifes the individuals actually performing the alledged file sharing". If CMW says "No, I disagree, ACSLaw are behaving professionally and are not in this just for the money I shall issue the Court Order".  You can expect PN and most other ISP's to conform with that request.

You can get a call  baring service or even just use Caller display to view number/who it is first, on the phone set I have I can block numbers from getting through yes another option.
Or do what I do and get a free 084***** number and give that out to companies like insurance or signup web pages you will then find not many will use it as I get the feeling call centres are not allowed tro dial 084 numbers, I wonder why?
If you want to know how to get a free 084 number PM me but only you as this is not an open invatation to all.
Then there is the The Telephone Preference Service:

I just looked at my account and it just has a phone number and mobile number.
No indication of preference or day/evening at all......
Different systems maybe?  Crazy

Nope - nothing in the account to say which is the preferred contact number, which is a shame.

So again how do you set a preferred contact?

this is Off Topic

I'd disagree.
The personal information PN hold about you is at the heart of this debate.
If PN's view of it is different to ours, and they don't even realise, it will just add to the problem.

Re: Plusnet will give your personal details to ACS Law with not informing you!!

This is not really about ACS Law any more as I have a feeling they will no longer exist soon.
It is about the giving of private data and agreeing to give it when the system used may not be accurate or even just plain wrong.
