You aren't going to leave anyway, so its just 'noise'.
Even if a small handful of people were to move - its hardly the end of the world for them is it?

It will not be just a few as bad publicity costs money.
And if a member of the house of Lords thinks it is wrong maybe it could be?
And this is my 4th ISP so I do know its not hard to move.

So if Plusnet foul up on anything in the future, it's just an extra reason to move.
If customers were defended from SPAM attempts by ACS (and others) it would be a positive reason to stay.
All for a few minutes spent drafting a letter to ACS and actually defending their customers if there were any further attempts at obtaining court orders.
I know that if I got one of these threatening letters and Plusnet were guilty of failing to defend me, I would definitely leave.
Since ACS send thousands of letters, Plusnet would lose a few thousand customers.

Yes, they listen to customers - and when customers say something that matches their plans, they rightly hold it up as an example of doing what the customer wants.
If customers want something that doesn't suit, don't expect your views to change a great deal.
Yes - I might be a cynic, but hey - I don't claim to be a plusnet 'Member' - I'm a customer - they sell products, I choose to buy them.
If the product isn't right - there is little point bitching about it - I'll just go elsewhere. (Its for this reason I am also a customer of 3 other ISPs - their products fit better with the individual requirements in other cases.)
I say this without any intentional heat - its just a matter of common sense. (It's also part of the reason why PN staff have been customers of other ISPs at various times in the past - i.e. One staffer wanted faster speeds, so paid for Be* LLU - rather than take the PN offering for free...)
Horse for Courses - PN is not a club - it is a shop. (The Community Site however is a club - hence it's worth bitching about stuff here to make sure things continue the way oyu like them.)

It would not even take that Just publish the report on this forum, then the internet will take over and it will be published on many sites within a few minutes. the whole business model would fail in the UK, it may also help our cousins across the pond, who are going through the same thing. as the USCG (not US Coast Guard, but US Copywright Group) are pursuing many thousands of people using the same business model.
Plusnet - I have been very patient, I am in the process of drafting letters to my MP, Watchdog, and the One Show, showing that you have either (1) got the information and refuse to share with us or (2) have not received the report (despite numerous reminders on this forum)
Either way your delay has cost many hundreds of subscribers of BE Unlimited a lot of money and Heartach, possibly a couple of failed marriages (if the accusations is PORN)

Just to clarify you expect Plusnet to defend it's customers against ACS does this also include users like me that can be approached by ACS without a court order to PN to supply my name and address?

Whether or not ACS Law can find your details is irrelevant. if want the details out there that is your decision. I and many others just want what is required by Law - ie the report.

I'm struggling to understand how your letter can provide evidence of either of these points when we've neither confirmed or denied them?
Dave, I understand that you (and many others) feel strongly about this topic, but can I just say that calling our support centre is not going to invoke a quicker response to this thread, especially considering the fact that our legal representatives aren't based in Sheffield!
To be blunt, we are not in a position to offer a response to the majority of your questions. e.g. I can't tell you whether or not ACS Law have provided us with details about the customers they've prosecuted because *I simply do not have this information available*.
That isn't to say that we haven't asked for it though.
I'm not going to get drawn into a debate about the whys and what fors, I just wanted to make an appearance to say that we're still watching this thread.
If/when we can come back to you with more information then we will.
Edit: Removed stray line-break.

I'll see who that was you spoke to as you should have been given the number 0845 140 6002 as per the information here.
Sorry to hear you feel so strongly about this situation anyway, it would be a shame to see you leave

It has been a pleasant experience for a couple of years with consitently good broadband with Plusnet. I appreciate that this particular problem is probably out with the remit of the staff who frequent these boards and i sympathise with those who are having to deal with it.
I will stick around to see the outcome (if any) of this thread but as i stated at the start, i dont think the head's of BT/Plusnet are taking this as seriously as it clearly is and will not budge.

Who cares........it was not Plusnet on the Order this time, only BE unlimited. Well I care!!
There will be many hundreds or perhaps thousands of new letters demanding payment going out soon, PlusNet you had a chance to stand up and be counted today and you failed.
It is not as if i am asking you to give information that should not be published. It is a clause of the Court order dated 19 Nov 09.
I look forward to your reply. Oh and by the way
If i want to call your call centre to ask to talk to someone, that is my right!
