How does a 6 hour time gap enable 8 hours of work to be done?

From  "Planned Website Maintenance - 13th March 23.00 - 14th March 05:00" email

 

When's this work happening?
Monday the 13th of March at 23:00 into Tuesday the 14th of March at 05:00

What does it affect?
Access to our website.

How long will it take?
Approximately 8 hours.

The 6 hours is proper working time, the other 2 are used for head scratching; just in case.

I gunned it to 88 and made a typo. Sorry everyone and I'll thank you when I get back from my travels.
