Re: Plusnet/Openreach Appointment Incompetence

Hi Paul,
We can't guarantee that the engineer will turn up after 3:30pm. Appointment slots are between 8AM - 1PM or 1PM - 6PM.
We can request that they attend after 3:30, however, if they turn up before that and it's within the time-slot there may be a re-booking fee of £49.99 applicable.
Please get back to me if you are alright with this and I'll see if there's any availability for Monday or Tuesday.

Re: Plusnet/Openreach Appointment Incompetence

I'm aware that you can't guarantee it'll be after 3:30pm but I'm a teacher and that's the earliest I can possibly get home. I can't take the day off and BTOR don't work Saturdays (unlike the rest of the UK) and can't provide any evening timeslots. Oh and in half term I'm on holiday away from home so that's out as well.
I'm not unreasonable, I'll put a polite notice on the door with my mobile number if I need to be contacted.
Considering that the engineer 'tried to gain access at 5pm' on the previous appointment (Would have been a great time) but in reality never turned up I think that there won't be a need to rebook the appointment. He either comes after 3:30pm and I stay with Plusnet or I go back to BT.

Re: Plusnet/Openreach Appointment Incompetence

Hi Paul,
We really are unable to guarantee this. It doesn't necessarily have to be you who is in the property, as long as there is someone there over the age of 18.
I do appreciate that you are being reasonable with your request, so my apologies that we're unable to do any more than request it of them.

Re: Plusnet/Openreach Appointment Incompetence

There's nobody I can think of who'd be able to be in for that length of time.
It may just be easier to risk it and hope the engineer is reasonable and returns after 3:30PM as the notice on the door will request. Was there any availability for the Monday and Tuesday? (or tomorrow if possible)
I know it's not your fault but could you at least pass on this feedback that for the vast majority of people a 1-6PM timeslot really isn't helpful at all. If it needs to be 5 hours then Saturday working may be the answer with a £10 surcharge for Saturday appointments?

Re: Plusnet/Openreach Appointment Incompetence

I just tried calling you to book in an earlier appointment.
I think the phone may have been answered whilst it was in your pocket?  Grin
Let me know a good time to call, as there are earlier dates available over your existing one.
