Planned BT network Maintenance messages

The formulaic, content free announcements of BT network maintenance used to amuse me. Though there was nothing useful to be learnt from them, I thought there was something comical about their sheer cut-and-pasteness, as if I was being invited to participate in a (poor, but well-meant) joke. "Is there anything else I need to know?" What do you think...

Now however, I think they may have crossed the line into outright sneering customer-contempt.  The last couple I have seen, eg todays say, as always:

"We've received notifications from our suppliers about maintenance work that is scheduled to take place in the following areas this week."

... and then, no areas follow. Surely your suppliers give you something to cut-and-paste into your announcements? They may be meaningless, but that's hardly the point. For real customer service, I want to see at least "Mornington Crescent", and imagine some jovial over-weight Sheffield bloke is sharing a titter with me.

Come on, play the game!

Re: Planned BT network Maintenance messages

I agree that in most cases the data posted is "content free" and of limited value to the majority of Users - but is posted fairly regularly.  Compare this with the paucity of information on real problems such as the ongoing Email problem.

Perhaps @LouisaMartin would like to include these pages in the current review of  'Quality of Service'  information on the Forum.
