Re: OpenReach featuring on Watchdog

There's a very good article in today's Mail which details the horrors of the combination of BT & Openreach. Praise the Lord that I'm a Plusnet customer.  Grin

Re: OpenReach featuring on Watchdog

I still fail to understand why end users cannot talk to Openreach.
But it will be interesting tonight. I think it will be more to do with telephone lines than broadband though....

Currently the ThinkBroadband website has a survey asking (see attachment) about Openreach repairs and connection problems -

Can Plusnet contact Openreach direct ?

Only on Phone Faults and Provision.  Not for Broadband. We have to contact Wholesale for Broadband/Fibre.

Provision as in when an order is placed with BTw and an Openreach engineer doesn't turn up?

Yes, though only for provisioning of a phone line, not broadband as James said above.

Re: OpenReach featuring on Watchdog

Wow.
That's an inefficient loop - End User > ISP > BTw > Openreach
So, you have to chase BTw when an engineer doesn't turn up for broadband and then BTw have to chase Openreach.
It's no wonder there can be issues!

It's an Ofcom directive.  It's to ensure what is called "equivalence".
