As you will see with my router stats attached to this post I haven't had any discons or loss of sync since this morning.....uptime 2.45 hrs.......
I tried to do another BT speed test but it failed half way through say there was 'an exception error'......it then said it was sending the results to the server but just sat there doing nothing for 5 mins so I gave up..... also it mentioned number of threads being 16 which it didnt say that on the previous tests I did.....
So I tried to do another BT speed test and it was exactly the same as above........
Not being able to complete a BT speed test usually means a fault at the exchange, most likely poor wiring or line card......

James just phoned me to tell me that BT never completed the 60m cable work as they said they would on Sunday.....and that they are now saying it will be completed by June 18th to 21st.......
So god only knows what the 5 x BT vans and 20 people I saw were doing at the weekend doing the work advised......
James has told BT that this is unacceptable and tomorrow will chase BT to find out what work they did complete and what still needs to be done.
James also did further tests while I was on the phone to him and the amount of error seconds has doubled to what they were this morning, 201 from memory......I am surprised my router hasnt lost sync or dropped connection as a result as interleaving is turned off, James offered to turn it on but I asked to leave it as it is for now and see how we go......anyway all probably irrelevant until BT do the work they had promised to do......

I am back now,
We reported the clicking noise to BT and that has gone.....
Current download sync is 3492 down and 448 up......
The clicking probably caused the discons and loss of syncs last week that has degraded the download sync yet again as it was a steady 4000 ish before I left, since BT fixed the clicking we have had uptime of 118 hrs....as we have an SNR margin of 9db we should be syncing higher than we are......
As you can see the upload has been capped yet again..!....why is this?....and please can you get it uncapped again with a way of making sure its not capped again....this is getting very tiresome....
As the DLM hasn't raised our sync to what it should be I suspect we are on some sort of banded profile again, can you check this out please.
Also we are seeing ping times of around 250...330ms which also suggests a problem, I tested this on various websites......

Regarding the ping, what do you get if you ping bbc.co.uk via a command prompt?

About 280ms......for bbc website.....but it varies......tried several speed testers and the ping is high on all of them, for example making a post here can take around 10 secs for it to upload.........
Pretty consistent with the high resistance probs we have had all along since the start......
Did you ever get confirmation from BT that we are on the new stretch of cable they put in?

Would you mind if I turned it on? Should correct the errors that you have been seeing and may improve your speeds.

It's worth noting that interleaving can be turned on or off with a 24 hour lead time, so if we do try this and it causes more problems than it solves for you we can easily reverse what we've done.

Upload needs to be uncapped as mentioned and I am suspicious that I am on some sort of banded profile again or the DLM has set my SNR margin or BT to 9db as a target to keep the faulty line stable......
The fact is before I joined plusnet I didnt need interleaving switched on so I know its possible for it to work without it on my length of line, also when I was moved from a dodgy port on the line card my line attenuation improved from 59db to 49db......its now 50db..........
We need to confirm wether I am on this new shiny cable or not........regardless I would say there is still a high resistance fault on the line which is likely to degrade the sync further when we get cold damp weather......
BT raising my SNR margin is just a way to cover the fault or poor quality line........

To confirm - you are on said shiny new cable.
I'll get the interleaving order placed now.

- Interleaving applied
- Upstream uncapped
- Increase traffic priority across the BT network just incase contention is any issue at all
Should complete tomorrow.

Lets see how that goes......
Can you see if we are on any sort of banded profile?.....as I would have expected the sync speed to have increased via DLM by now since the clicking noise was fixed....it seems to either be a banded profile of some description as it hasn't changed and the fact that the upload was capped yet again that would in some way confirm my suspicion or perhaps the DLM has got stuck....
