I like this 25% idea! Next time I go to fill the car with diesel I'm going to make sure I've only got £40 in my pocket and then put in £50 of fuel. I'm sure they'll let me away with it if they want to keep my custom.
The biggest issue is not the advance warning (but I'm adamant that it should be opt in to pay more by default), it's the outrageous £5 penalty if you go over by the smallest amount. The poll http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,105360.0.html shows that over 95% of those who have voted don't think the current system is right, with over 50% saying it should be £1 per GB.

How often when filling your car up with diesel do you pay £40 which entitles you to 30 litres ( lets say - my cars petrol powered) but only put 20 litres into your tank? Doing that would be much more typical of the average customer buying broadband from Plusnet!
Given that Plusnet specialise in speed control, (all these E100s they spend their money on) I have no doubt that the default option should be restricted speed. In another thread, somebody is complaining that Plusnet are only too good at sending emails, texts and popups when they do not get their money the instant they think they should. They should be capable of doing the same when they start restricting you.
Then you can choose either to freewheel your car down the hill until your get your next automatic fill up with diesel or you can choose to pull in and buy some more. Incidentally, having bought some, you continue to have access to it until it is used up - it does not disappear at some accountants whim!

Moderators Note.
Everyone has had their say and now this thread is locked.
I have resisted the urge to remove a few posts as there is an interesting debate, though this is now off topic.
However I would like to remind all parties to be careful about breaching the forum rules and perhaps a quick refresher is in order.
