Cheapest deal?

sometime soon i will be giving talk talk a call ( and maybe sky as well ) as they both have had their own LLU kit at my exchange for some time.
yhis is my current plusnet deal:
line rental £14.99/month
talk anytime £4.99/month.
and from their upgrade account page
Quote
THIS IS YOUR CURRENT BROADBAND PACKAGE
Plusnet Extra
£17.99
per month
    60GB Usage Allowance
    5.5Mb download speed (estimated)
    Unlimited overnight usage between midnight-8am
Ideal for large families, home workers, downloaders and gamer

If I add LRS on to that the monthly equivalent will be £34.47 over 12 months i would be paying £413.64
Unlimited is (12 month option)
[quotePlusnet Unlimited (Contracted)
£16.99
per month
    Unlimited Usage
    14Mb download speed (estimated)
12-month contract - save £2.50 a month compared to 'no contract' option
Perfect for large families, downloaders and gamers

For unlimited it would be £33.45 per month ( including LRS and talk any time) annual cost £401.40
slightly different form the £18.46 per month costs with the 2.50 deal annual cost £221.52  saving of £179.88 over a year.
A quick look at talk talk shows this:
Line rental ( LRS) 9.50/month
Simply Broadband £2.50 per month
anytime calls £5.50 per month
total monthly cost £ 17.50 over a year that would cost £210, compared to my current  £413.64 - over a year that would be a saving of  £203.64 if i Add a TV package then it would add £60 to the talk talk deal, and if i also add fibre ( when it comes ) that would add a further £120  per year.

But as it is at the moment - unless plusnet can match the price, switching to talk talk could save me over £200 per year.

Re: Cheapest deal?

Hi pint,
Give customer options a ring  ( 0845 140 6002,), see what they can offer you, like you I am on a market 1 exchange.
I called earlier in the month and was offered a great deal (unlimited package), in exchange for a 24 month contract.
Regards
Mike

Ditto^^^^^^^^
I was really happy with the deal I was offered and I willingly took 24mth contract as it saves me ringing up again next year.

Put your phone number in here http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/ and it tells you on the upper right.
Or in here http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange_search and it's at the bottom.

Re: Cheapest deal?

Likewise also on a market 1 exchange even though there are two LLU operators.
I was given a good deal on a 24 month contract which I was happy to agree to.
Bear in mind that if prices go up during this time above the rate of inflation you do have a 'get out' clause.

Talk Talk when it works is great.
When you have an issue or need customer services or technical support, you will wish you were back with Plusnet.
The above statement is like saying "wow, that Lada looks great, it has four wheels, an engine and is half the price of that Honda"

I drove an old Lada Riva a few times - I had muscles like Popeye by the time I'd finished.
