Re: BT Wholesale upgrade

Thanks - I've passed it back to BT.
Weird that a supposed fix to increase stability would cause a complete loss of connection!

Re: BT Wholesale upgrade

No, you don't appear to be.
But we need a reboot of the router first to make sure that that doesn't spark the connection into life.

Now connected with reasonable speed.
(Today 20:03 4598 kbps (575kB/s) 377 kbps (47.1kB/s))
Any news from BT on the issue ?

Dear Mr Milbourn,
We have checked the progress of your fault with our supplier. At the moment this is still being investigated by their diagnostics team. We will continue to check for updates and let you know as soon as we have more information. The likely next action on this fault will be an engineer visit so we would request that you have tried an alternate router/modem in the BT test socket before an engineer is booked. We will be back in touch shortly to confirm BT's findings.
Kind regards,

at the moment i dont think i need and engineer.... or an alternate modem.... clearly something has changed !
i'd like to know what/who it was that screwed up.

Re: BT Wholesale upgrade

Ed,
Looking at our connection logs, it has been working today.
But for a connection length of 5:00 *every* time.
Can you check that you don't have an idle timeout of 5 minutes set on your router please?

Re: BT Wholesale upgrade

This ticket is finally closed as the connection is stable.
BT speedtest gives a good result although i've been unable to access this recently, but at the same time external speedtesters give a poor result, is there anymore debugging i can do on this kind of speed/contention issue before raising another ticket ?
(also i was unable to access 2 external ftp sites last night, the plunet one was fine..... but i was able to access them this morning from another connection)
